Bird Rescue

When rescuing a bird you need to determine if the bird really needs to be rescued. If it is unable to flutter its wings, or if the wings are drooping unevenly, or if it is weak or shivering, been attacked by an animal or has been caught in the mount by a cat or dog, then the bird probably needs some extra care. Be aware though if it is a hatchling and does not have feathers then don’t pick it up and try putting it back in the nest. If a fledgling is hopping on the ground and is safe from people, animals and other birds and the parents are feeding it then it does not need to be rescued.
